Tony feels very fortunate with Scurich Insurance. He says that he has a fantastic staff and is very confident that things will always be taken care of. Because of his great staff, he has very positive feedback from his customers. Theft Prevention Tips While On Vacation

ScurichMake your home looked “lived in” even when you’re not there

Have a trusted neighbor pick up your mail and newspapers.

Arrange for someone to mow your lawn or shovel snow.

Ask a neighbor to park a car in your driveway while you’re gone.

Use timed switches on your lights, TV and stereo. Look for timers that turn on and off randomly.

Never advertise your absence by taping a note to your door or announcing it on your answering machine/voice mail.

Turn your telephone ringer down or off. This way a burglar is less likely to hear the ringing of unanswered calls and realize no one is home.

You can add to the security of your lighting system and cut your electric bill by installing a motion detector on outside lights. This will activate your lights when anyone comes within range of the unit’s motion sensor.

Scurich Insurance Services can get you and your home covered with Homeowners Insurance.

Contractor Equipment Coverage

ScurichContractor’s Equipment Coverage is not necessary for most investors or builder’s but for those who build or start many projects each year, such as commercial builders, this is an extremely important form of insurance.

Whereas builders risk insurance covers buildings and structures in the course of construction, equipment such as compressors, generators, trailers, cranes, bulldozers, graders, forklifts, mobile tools, etc. are not covered and commercial property policies limit the coverage they provide for contractor’s equipment.

Even self-employed carpenters, who take on smaller jobs such as building decks, patios, screened-in porches, and the like, use tools and equipment that need to be insured. Similar to builder’s risk insurance, contractor’s equipment coverage is an important part of almost any construction project.

The cost of this equipment varies, but larger machinery and equipment can be extremely expensive, with some worth hundreds of thousands of dollars or more. Contractor’s Equipment Insurance provides coverage for damage to mobile equipment, including tools and machinery, used in construction as well as in a variety of other activities. The additional perils of flood and earthquake damage are also often covered in contractor’s equipment policies.

Scurich Insurance is here to he for your Insurance needs.

Farmers Seek More Renewable Energy

ScurichInnovative farmers have been producing renewable energy using byproducts such as walnut hulls and methane for years, and their efforts to earn credits from utility companies for some of that energy could soon become easier.

A bill passed by the Legislature would allow farmers to connect on-farm renewable-energy systems together and then connect them to the grid. Previously, only solar, wind and fuel cell generators have had a streamlined path to connect.

5 Items You Need- To Make An Auto Insurance Claim

Scurich Insurance1. Who did I have an accident with? Be sure to get complete information from the other party(ies) involved. This means copying down their address, driver’s license #, date of birth, and ask for their phone number.  In addition, obtain their insurance information including, the company, policy #, agent if there is one, the policy begin and expiration date and their phone #.

You need to make sure that you have as much info as possible to give your insurance company; this will help get your claim resolved as fast as possible. Scurich is there when life happens, you can find information on the 24/7.

2. Were there any witnesses? Was there anyone who saw the accident happen? You want to make sure that you get information from anyone who saw the accident. This will assist the insurance companies to determine who is liable for the accident.

3. Were the police called? If the police called or showed up, make sure to get the name and badge # of the officer and a report number. It may take your insurance company up to 3 months to get a police report, so be sure you take the information but don’t rely on the insurance company getting the information.

4. What kind of vehicle or vehicles were involved in this accident? You want to make sure that you get the vehicle year, make and model, the license plate #, and VIN number for each vehicle involved. Scurich knows that when an accident happens its hard to think straight. Just stay calm and try and remember everything you need to make a complete claim.

5. Where did this happen? Get the intersection or street that the accident happened on. Also, you want to make sure that you know how many lanes are on each side of the street, if the street or streets are 1 way or 2 way, the type of striping on the pavement within 100 feet each direction of the loss, i.e. is it a solid, double yellow line, a white line, etc. Also, you want to know where each vehicle impacted, what lane you and the other car were driving in just before the accident, the direction of travel for each vehicle, and if there were any signs posted that control traffic flow.

Scurich wants to be there for you every step of your life. Check us out on your favorite social network!
